PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (September 6, 2019) -- The Holy Family University Department of Athletics is excited to announce the addition of Sara Miraglia as its new Head Athletic Trainer as announced by Tim Hamill, Director of Athletics on Tuesday afternoon.
 
"I would like to welcome Sara to our athletics' staff as our new Head Athletic Trainer," said Hamill.  "Her experience and knowledge will be very valuable to our student-athletes and our athletic training staff."
 
Miraglia comes to Holy Family after spending the previous four years at Immaculata University as its Assistant Athletic Trainer.  While at Immaculata, Miraglia supervised injury response and intervention for a number of sports, including field hockey, women's volleyball, men's and women's basketball, baseball, women's lacrosse and men's and women's tennis. She also developed and supervised injury treatment and rehabilitation plans for the student-athletes as well as injury prevention protocols. 
 
Miraglia was also the lead instructor for the First-Year Experience Seminar at Immaculata where she planned and delivered high-quality instruction on becoming a more conscious member of society, specifically the local community, for first-year IU students.  She also facilitated a three-month service project, culminating in formal presentations by each student to three IU academic administrators.
 
Prior to her time at Immaculata, Miraglia served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Bishop Shanahan High School from 2012-2015.  She was also part of the support staff at Optimum Physical Therapy during that time.
 
Miraglia currently serves as the co-chair of the Corporate Sponsorship Committee of the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers Society (PATS) and has been in that role since 2017.  She is also a member of the Eastern Athletic Trainers' Association (EATA) Social Media Committee.  In addition, Miraglia is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA).
 
Miraglia earned her Bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training from West Chester University in 2012.  She went on to earn her Master's of Arts in Educational Leadership from Immaculata in 2018.
