Erin Harvey Promoted to Associate Athletic Director at Wilmington University

NEWARK, Del. (August 30, 2019) -- A veteran of the Wilmington University Athletics Department, Erin Harvey has been elevated to the roll of Associate Athletic Director, as announced by Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Stefanie Whitby.

Harvey will remain as the department's Compliance Officer and continue to serve as the Senior Woman Administrator for the University.

"She supports our coaches and student-athletes from the time of recruitment until graduation with the utmost care and professionalism. She stays aware of best practices to ensure that the University is NCAA compliant, which is necessary in keeping our athletic programs successful on and off the field. She brings a passion that is recognized by the student-athletes, fellow colleagues, and her peers."

In her new role, Harvey will provide direct supervision to the assistant compliance office, student-athlete academic advising, and sports information.

Harvey served as an Assistant Athletic Director for the past seven years, beginning with her role as the department's Compliance Officer. The Officer of Compliance is charged with ensuring that there is full institutional control in all activities directly and indirectly associated with Wilmington Athletics, and oversees that the department operates in accordance with the rules and regulations as set forth by the NCAA, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) and Wilmington University on a daily basis.

An active administrator within the conference, Harvey currently serves as the chair of the CACC Senior Woman Administrators as well as on the DII Women's Tennis East Regional Advisory Committee.  She sits on the conference's Needy Student, Marketing, Constitution and Bylaws, Gender Equity, Membership, Scheduling, Strategic Planning, and Intra-Conference Transfer Appeals Committees.  Her previous experience includes a stint on the Championships Committee as well as serving as a Conference Commissioners Association of Compliance Administrators (CCACA) Mentor. 

Prior to her role in athletic administration, Harvey spent ten years as the Sports Information Director for the Wildcats' eleven intercollegiate programs.  During that span, she also spent six seasons as the head coach of the softball program, leading her teams to a combined 157-128-1 record (.551).

Harvey also earned a BS in Sports Management from Wilmington in 2001, bringing her total tenure with the institution to an amazing 21 years.
