NEW HAVEN, Conn. (July 2, 2019) -- Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Commissioner Dan Mara was recently named the 2nd Vice President of the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA), as recently announced by the national organization of NCAA Division II commissioners. Mara will move through the D2CCA governing structure and will chair the organization in 2021-22.

Mara, who has nearly 15 years of experience as Commissioner of the CACC, will bring extensive knowledge to the position to help guide the D2CCA into an exciting future. The D2CCA plays a major role in helping to shape the vision of NCAA Division II, as the commissioners represent the various member schools throughout the nation at the D2 level.

Erin Lind, Commissioner of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC), was elected as President of D2CCA.

"It is an honor to assume the role of President of the D2 CCA for the upcoming academic year, and I would like to thank Julie Ruppert for her leadership over the past year as our President," stated Lind. "Our goal as an association will continue to be a communication link among conferences as we discuss views, policies and regulations that impact NCAA Division II. It is a privilege to work with the other 22 commissioners as we serve as a voice to the NCAA representing our member colleges and universities." 
 
Lind takes the reins from Julie Ruppert, commissioner at the Northeast-10 Conference (NE10), who will transition to Immediate Past President. Serving alongside Lind will be: 1^st Vice President, Tom Daeger, commissioner, Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC); and Mara.
