Georgian Court University Announces Chi Alpha Sigma Class of 2018

LAKEWOOD, N.J. (April 12, 2018) -- The Class of 2018 has been announced as 22 Georgian Court University student-athletes have earned selection into the prestigious New Jersey Iota Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma.
This year's class includes: Nijiera Addison, Malawi Allen, Nicole Barbella, Jacqueline Coulahan, Samantha Fernandez, William Green, Molly Jackson, Breanna Keelan, Shannon Kelly, Shannon Kingston, Morgan LaDuca, Amber Neumann, Brandon Razler, Kaitlyn Salisbury, Arturo Sanchez, Jessica Sipili, Dana Sobel, Carolyn Stanton, Jaclynn Sweeney, Stephanie Torrence, Cassandra Varvaro and Ryder Verdoni.
Georgian Court women's soccer and basketball alum, and fellow Chi Alpha Sigma inductee, Elizabeth Lawler '14, served as the event's featured guest speaker while 2017 inductee Lisa Milburn of the women's lacrosse squad shared some words of wisdom with this year's class.
All 2018 graduating members, which include: Allen, Taylor Bauerband, Tyler Chamra, Coulahan, Rosa Franze, Gustavo Gomez, Jessica Handsaker, Tiffani Kipila, Lizzy Kroon, LaDuca, Julia Martone, Patrick Parr, Kelly Poltorak, Sobel, Xena Valenzuela, Varvaro, and Nikola Vujovic were presented Chi Alpha Sigma commemorative cords to wear with their caps and gowns during next month's commencement ceremony.
The National College Athlete Honor Society was founded at DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana, on May 17, 1996, as a student-athlete honor society for the recognition of high academic achievers and sport letter-winners at the collegiate level.
Chi Alpha Sigma was established to recognize college student athletes who earn a varsity letter in at least one sport while maintaining a 3.4 or higher cumulative GPA throughout their junior and senior years. The governing board represents all levels of competition in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
