COMPLETE LISTING OF CACC FALL 2015 ALL-ACADEMIC TEAMS

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (January 8, 2016) – Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Commissioner Dan Mara announced on Friday that 216 student-athletes were named to the Fall 2015 All-Academic Teams for the league’s six fall championship sports, including men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s tennis, and volleyball.

The 216 student-athletes represent the second highest total in conference history for the fall season, narrowly trailing last year's mark of 218.

Women’s soccer led the six championship sports with 56 honorees, while men’s soccer and volleyball followed with 52 and 45, respectively. Women’s cross country had 25 honorees, while 22 men's harriers made the list. Women's tennis had 16 student-athletes make the squad.

Sixty-nine (69) of the student-athletes were placed on the Fall All-Academic Team for the second time in their career, while 37 honorees were recognized for the third time.

Six (6) student-athletes named to the Fall All-Academic Teams recorded perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point averages, including Sjoerd Blankenstein (Caldwell University men's soccer), Victoria Fedora (Chestnut Hill College women's soccer), Sienna Smith (Holy Family University women's soccer), Katharina Mertz (Post University women's soccer), Koumudi Thirunagaru (Caldwell women's tennis), and Nina Sengl (Goldey-Beacom College women's tennis), 

Thirty-three (33) of the student-athletes on the All-Academic Teams also were named to their respective All-Conference teams during the fall, including a trio who earned a major year-end award in their respective sport. Georgian Court University women’s soccer standout Lizzy Kroon was named to the All-Academic Team after she was named the league’s player of the year in the sport while ranking first in goals (18) and points (43). Post volleyball star Skylar German was named the CACC Player of the Year for the second time in as many seasons after leading the league in kills (417) and hitting percentage (.350). Chestnut Hill's Regina Trabosh was named the CACC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Year, as she led the conference in digs (664) and digs per set (5.77).

In order to be named to the CACC Fall All-Academic Team, recipients must have participated in a CACC Championship sport in the fall. They must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher through the spring semester of 2015.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 14 institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The member institutions are Bloomfield College, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Concordia (N.Y.) College, Dominican (N.Y.) College, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Nyack College, Philadelphia University, Post University of Waterbury, University of the Sciences, and Wilmington University.
