BEARS WOMEN'S SOCCER FALL 5-1 ON THE ROAD TO WILMINGTON

3476WILMINGTON, D.E. - Bloomfield College women's soccer traveled to face Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival, Wilmington University and dropped a 5-1 decision this afternoon. The Bears are now 1-11 on the year after the setback and 1-7 in CACC action while the Wildcats improve to 3-9 overall and 3-5 in conference play.
Today's game was part of Wilmington University's Breast Cancer Awareness weekend and the they hosted both the women's and men's soccer teams from Bloomfield College.

The first half almost came to a scoreless conclusion when Loran Wyrough found the back of the net with just 31 seconds remaining to send Wilmington to the break up 1-0. Wyrough would taste success again in the opening minute of the second half, netting a ball past sophomore Bears keeper Diana Vincentini (Lacey TWP, N.J.) to double the Wildcats advantage. Wilmington would go up 3-0 before Bloomfield found an answer off the foot of junior Ashley Nolan (Burlington, N.J) in the 65th minute play. The Wildcats tacked on two more goals for good measure including Wyrough's third on the day and secured the conference victory.

Wilmington out-shot the Bears 23-8 on the day and held a 10-2 edge in corner kicks. Vincentini finished the game with 9 saves during the contest.

Bloomfield will take a day's rest before hitting the road again to face Pace University on Monday at 4:00 pm. The Bears will close out the week with a Senior Day celebration coupled with an Alumni Reunion at Homecoming on Saturday, October 18th when they face Goldey-Beacom. Game time is slated for 11:00 am.
