Lakewood, N.J.-The Georgian Court University lacrosse squad posted its second consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) blowout as the Lions dismantled Chestnut Hill College, 17-2, Saturday afternooon. The victory gives the Lions a record of 6-5-1 (6-2 CACC) while the Griffins fall to 2-10 (2-6 CACC).
GCU outscored Chestnut Hill, 12-0, in the first half and never looked back.
Corinne Coyle paced the Lions' offense with six goals and three assists while
Olivia Rotunno contributed a hat trick.
Stephanie Gallo added two goals and an assist.
Melissa Williams netted two goals of her own.
Megan Shaughnessy (Sr.-Mullica Hill, N.J.) and
Lindsay Alexander (Sr.-Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) provided the scoring for the Griffins.
Amanda Cathcart earned the win in net for the Lions with four saves over 39:23.
Stephanie Lehner tallied a save in 20:37 of relief time. Chestnut Hill's
Danielle Owen (Fr.-Glenolden, Pa.) took the loss, making six saves in 31:01 of action in the Griffins' goal.
The Lions remain home to host East Stroudsburg University in a non-conference contest this Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
