Fraser’s Hat Trick Leads Bentley Past Holy Family 6-1

WALTHAM, Mass. – Sophomore forward Johann Fraser (Cambridge, Mass./Rindge & Latin) netted a hat trick to lead the Bentley men's soccer team past Holy Family 6-1 on Sunday afternoon.

The hat trick is the first by a Bentley player since Eric Heuze in the 2009 season.

Fraser scored in the 29th, 55th and 89th minutes for the hat trick.

Junior Lukas Drahos (Melrose, Mass./Mystic Valley) scored in the 2nd minute off an assist from Patrick McMahon (Kingston, Mass./Silver Lake) to give Bentley an early 1-0 lead, before Fraser doubled the lead with his first goal of the day.

Holy Family cut the lead to 2-1 with a penalty kick goal in the 54th minute, but just 20 seconds later Fraser's second goal of the day gave the Falcons a 3-1 lead.

With the two goal lead, a pair of freshmen then netted their first career strikes to pad the advantage to 5-1. Michael Haikal (North Easton, Mass./Oliver Ames) scored in the 76th minute off a cross from the right wing by senior Alex Matuson, before Parker Higgins (Stockholm, N.J.) scored off a free kick from Sean McLoughlin (Delran, N.J./Delran) in the 89th minute.

Fraser then finished his hat trick after a steal in midfield, and a run on a solo run on net with a low shot that wrong-footed the Holy Family keeper for the goal.

The Falcons improved to 1-2-1 with the victory. They will be back in action on Wednesday with another non-conference home game against Wilmington (Delaware) at 3:00 PM.
