Firebirds Shutout Jefferson 7-0

WASHINGTON, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's women's tennis team defeated Jefferson 7-0, Wednesday evening at the UDC Tennis Courts. The Firebirds improved their record to 15-1 on the season while the Rams fell to 10-8.

Joanna Skrzypczynska and Laura Marie defeated their opponents 7-6(3) at No.2 doubles. The Rams would come back to win at No.1 but default at No. 3, giving the Firebirds the doubles point going into singles play.

UDC went on to sweep singles play with wins at No.1, 2, 3, and 4 to secure their victory.

The Firebirds (15-1, 5-0 ECC) will face off against Goldey-Beacom College in an away trip on Thursday, the 14th. The first serve is set to go off at noon.
