BLOOMFIELD, N.J. -
Tianna Smith (Spring Valley, N.Y.) was honored just before tipoff for scoring her 1,000th career-point on Wednesday and then poured in a game-high 25 points to lead the Bears to a 93-50 win over the visiting Lions of Georgian Court Saturday afternoon. Bloomfield's offensive output was the highest of the season and improved their overall record to 19-5, including a perfect 15-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matches. The setback pushed Georgian Court to 5-18 overall for the year and a 3-12 record in league play.
Smith had her best shooting performance as a Bear, shooting 81.8 perfect from the field (9-11 FG) including a new CACC record for 3-pt field goal percentage in a game, going a perfect 5-for-5 from beyond the arc. Bloomfield's leading scorer also chipped in five steals on the defensive end of the floor and snagged four offensive boards on the afternoon. Senior
Chyna Golden (Neptune, N.J.) recorded her 5
th double-double of the year, netting 12 points (4-11 FG, 4-5 FT) to go along with a game-high eleven rebounds. Sophomores,
Alexia' Tucker (Halifax, Va.) and
Jahniece Jaffe (Egg Harbor, N.J.) came off the bench to score 14 points each while freshman Brianna Carrington (Baltimore, M.D.) recorded a career-high 10 boards and chipped in 7 points in seventeen minutes of work.

Alliyah Berger scored 11 points and grabbed 4 rebounds to lead the Lions for the afternoon.

Berger scored Georgian Court's first two buckets in the opening quarter and the visitors held an early 4-2 advantage. Bloomfield responded with a 10-2 spurt capped by a layup from junior guard,
Morgan Taylor (Paterson, N.J.) at the 5:22 mark and never trailed again for the contest. Berger converted two free throws to draw the Lions to within four (15-11) with 2:35 to go but the Bears closed out the first quarter action with a 12-2 spurt and drove their lead to double-digits.

The second quarter began with a 12-4 outburst from the home team capped by four straight points from Smith and the Bears claimed a 37-17 advantage. Georgian Court scored only five more points in the period as the combination of tenacious defense and sharp-shooting resulted in the Bloomfield edge ballooning to thirty-one before settling at 54-25 at the half. The Bears forced 21 turnovers in the opening two quarters and shot 53.8 percent (7-for-13) from deep.

Bloomfield began the 3
rd quarter with a 10-1 roar as Smith netted five points alone and the home team was well in control. Smith drained the CACC North Division leader's last five points of the third stanza and the Bears had a forty-point spread (74-34) heading into the final quarter.

The Bloomfield reserves saw some action in the final period as Jaffe knocked in two from beyond the arc and
Gabriella Bennett (Willingboro, N.J) scored two baskets down low. The Bears put the game away with their largest scoring output since joining the NCAA Division II and new CACC team record for points in a game with 93.

The Bears outshot Georgian Court 42.1 percent (32-76) to 37.0 percent (17-46) and a 52.0 percent (13-25) to 12.5 percent (1-8) advantage from long distance setting a league record in 3-pt field goals made in a game. Although the Lions shot a higher percentage from the line 71.4 percent (15-21) to 69.6 percent (16-23) the Bears dominated the glass 57-26 and scoring in the paint, 30-12. Bloomfield forced 28 Georgian Court mistakes and converted them into into 39 points on the record setting afternoon.

Next up for the conference's top team will be a road trip up north to battle with the Eagles of Post University. The Bears look to continue their unbeaten streak in the CACC on Tuesday with a 5:30 pm tip-off in Waterbury, Conn. at the Drubner Center. Â
