AUBURNDALE, Fla. (March 6, 2022)- In just her third game in her tenure, Stonehill College Head Coach, Ali Maloof earned her first head coaching win behind a total team effort by a score of 9-1 over Chestnut Hill College Sunday afternoon at the Auburndale Softball Complex. Today's contest saw seven different Skyhawks record an RBI and starter Skylar Brandemarte tossed a complete six-inning game while striking out seven.

Standout Performances:

Key Moments:

  • Stonehill wasted no time in the bottom of the first when Emily Nardelli ripped a double that scored Alexa Adinolfi who had singled to start off the inning. After a Wodarski sacrifice, Nardelli ended up scoring to make it 2-0 early on.
  • The Skyhawks again posted another two-run inning that saw RBIs from Kelly who had singled, and then Dawes took advantage of a past ball which increased the lead to 4-0.
  • After the Griffins got one run back in the top of the third from a Steph Tonuci double, Brandemarte shut down Chestnut Hill the rest of the way. She ended up not allowing another hit or run and struck out three en route to her first collegiate win.
  • Dawes answered Chestnut Hill in the bottom half of the third when she sent a single to right-center and scored Brochu after she got on base from a single earlier.
  • Brochu continued her strong day with a two-run RBI double (7-1) in the bottom of the fourth for her third hit of the day. Brochu along with Hammond and Dawes also recorded three hits on the afternoon.
  • In the sixth inning, Stonehill put the game away as Marissa Dwyer and Hammond both collected RBIs and increased the advantage to 9-1 for the victory.
