Men’s Soccer Pull Off 2OT Win In Pivotal Game Against Jefferson

When and Where: October 13th - Post @ Jefferson - Men's Soccer - Philadelphia, PA

Results: Post W: 4-3 2OT

The Eagles traveled to Jefferson in hopes of earning an important CACC win and they did just that. Ted Haley received outstanding performances from Alvaro Sanchez, Sergio Diaz and Phillimon Bedard-Khalid.

Alvaro Sanchez:

The sophomore scored Post's first two goals of the game. His first tied the game at 1-1 after Jefferson got on the board early. About ten minutes after his first goal, Sanchez put another shot home and gave the eagles a 2-1 lead. For Sanchez, this is his third goal in the past two games. Sanchez outstanding play also included an assist on the game winning goal. 

Sergio Diaz:

Diaz has shown a tremendous ability to set up his teammates all season and it was on full display today. The sophomore from Madrid, Spain assisted on both first half goals. Diaz would go on to score the last goal of regulation, which tied the score at 3-3. 

Phillimon Bedard-Khalid:

Bedard-Khalid showed up when it mattered the most today, scoring the game winning goal in the second overtime. Bedard-Khalid now has goals in two straight games and three goals in the seven CACC games he has appeared in. 

Post out-shot Jefferson 20 (13) to 16 (8). Diaz contributed with six shots on goal, while Alvaro Sanchez and Andreas Time each added two shots on goal.

Fredrik Pedersen saw eight shots on goal and made three saves. 

CACC Facts:

  • Post now sits in 3rd place in the CACC, four points behind Wilmington and eight points behind Georgian Court. Post will square off against Georgian Court a week from today at LaMoy Field (2:30 p.m.)
  • Sergio Diaz leads the conference with 11 assists in CACC play
  • Diaz sits in 3rd place with 25 points in CACC play
