Homers Make The Difference In UB's 4-1 Loss To LeMoyne On Saturday
UB Faces Adelphi At 12 Noon On Sunday
Myrtle Beach, S.C.-A two-run homer by LeMoyne's Nick Nevins in the top of the fourth inning which snapped a 1-1 tie proved to be the difference in the game, as the Dolphins picked up a 4-1 non-conference baseball win over the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights in South Carolina on Saturday afternoon. LeMoyne is now 3-4 on the young season, while UB is 0-3.
Sophomore Jeremy Rodrigues (Monroe, Conn.) had two hits and knocked in the Purple Knights lone run versus the Dolphins in the bottom of the third inning.
Junior Anthony Pascale (Stony Brook, N.Y.) also had two hits as part of a nine-hit UB attack, as Bridgeport outhit LeMoyne, 9-8, in the game.
Jason Giambra (Jr., Milford, Conn.) was the Bridgeport starter on Saturday and took the loss despite hurling seven solid innings in which he allowed six hits and three runs with five strikeouts and only one walk.
Along with Nevins' two-run home run, the Dolphins added a solo homer in the eighth inning.
