BEARS WOMEN'S SOCCER FALL AT HOME, 5-1 TO NYIT

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - The Bloomfield College women's soccer team suffered a 5-1 setback against visiting New York Institute of Technology Wednesday evening at Foley Field. The loss dropped the Bears to 0-4 on the season while NYIT improved to 2-1 with the non-conference, regional victory.

The visitors from NYIT never trailed in the contest, finding the back of the net in the 16th minute to take a 1-0 lead in the first half. Bloomfield was unable to find the equalizer and went into the half trailing by one goal.

NYIT scored two more goals in the second half before Bloomfield found their way onto the scoreboard on a penalty shot by transfer standout, Simone McEnough (Neptune, N.J.) at the 66:42 minute mark. The visitors would tack on two more goals over the head of freshman goalie, Adeline Argabrite (Bloomfield, N.J.) who made her second consecutive start of the season.

The visiting Bears played an aggressive style and out-shot Bloomfield 18-3 for the match but also picked up 10 offsides calls on the evening. NYIT held a slight, 3-2 edge in corner kicks as Argabrite picked up four saves for the home team.

Bloomfield will head down the NJ Turnpike next for some Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action on Saturday at noon. The Bears will square off with the Wildcats of Wilmington University with Live Stats available to follow along with the match.
