BEARS EASILY SLIDE PAST HOLY FAMILY, 6-0 IN FRONT OF FOLEY FIELD CROWD

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – Nicholas Calabia (Palisades Park, NJ) scored in the first minute of the game and there was no turning back as the Bears' striker registered a hat-trick in Bloomfield's 6-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) victory Saturday afternoon over Holy Family University. The home crowd at Foley Field were treated to an impressive display from the Bloomfield (3-1, 1-0 CACC) offense, while Jovan Stanojkovic (Pancevo, Serbia) anchored the Bears defense with his first shutout in 2017.
 
Bryan Medina (Dover, NJ) found Calabia twice in the opening half, once at the 00:30 minute mark and again at the 27:14 mark. Sandwiched in-between Calabia was fed by Warwick Stirling (Lauderhill, Fla) in the 8th minute and Holy Family (1-2, 0-1 CACC) found themselves in a 3-0 hole heading into the half on the strength of the Bears forward's second, third and fourth goals of the season.
 
A new cast emerged for goals in the second half of play with Arman Bashiri (Lovestad, Norway) knocking in his 2nd of 2017 off a ball from Maxwell Uchendu (Lagos, Nigeria) in the 60th minute. David Duret (Bloomfield, NJ) orchestrated the Bears fifth goal of the day as he served up a ball that Regsan Watkins (Cape Town, South Africa) promptly drobe in the net for his first of the year. Duret later closed out the scoring with his first goal for the program at the 67:50 minute mark on a pass from Hakeem Montalvo (Cutler Bay, Fla).
 
Bloomfield will hibernate for a few days before their next match up on Wednesday against Concordia College. The Clippers will welcome the Bears for a 3:00 pm CACC showdown in Bronxville.
