BLOOMFIELD, NJ – Bloomfield used a balanced attack to claim their third consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) decision Saturday afternoon against visiting Caldwell University. The Bears took a 90-80 win at the Den and pushed their record to 7-2 overall while the Cougars dropped to 1-1 in league battles and 3-7 overall after the setback.
 
For the second straight time, Keith Washington (Philadelphia, PA) had a 20-plus game in 'The Den' as he poured in a career-best 29 points on 11-of-17 shooting from the field, which included a blistering, 6-of-8 from beyond the arc. With Washington's game-high at the forefront, the home squad enjoyed three other double-digit scorers on the snowy afternoon. Junior guard, Safee Abdus-Sabur (Newark, NJ) came off the bench for a season-high as well burying 4-of-6 from long range and totaling 18 points while captains, Marcus Fleming (Linden, NJ) and Nick Davidson (Lumberton, NJ) contributed 13 and 10 points respectively.
 
Despite the snow on the ground outside, the Bears were on fire in the first half, shooting 58.1 percent from the field (18-of-31) and a buzzer-beating half court shot from Washington sent the team into the locker rooms up 47-46 over the Cougars.  Although Bloomfield's shooting cooled off in the 2^nd frame, Caldwell never got an opportunity to take the lead with the home team still lighting it up from downtown for 50.0 percent (5-of-10).
 
The Bears will hibernate for a few before their next action on December 16^th when they travel to Springfield, Mass for a tournament at AIC. Bloomfield's first opponent will be Franklin Pierce University with a 6:00 pm start.
