Waterbury, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team was swept in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference road doubleheader by the host Post University Eagles on Saturday afternoon, as the Eagles won game one, 7-1, and completed the sweep with a 4-0 win the nightcap. UB is now 7-33 overall and 3-25 in the CACC. Post ups its season mark to 27-13, and they are 17-32 in conference play.
In the opener, sophomore Jeremy Rodrigues (Monroe, Conn.) drove in the Purple Knights lone run.
In game two, Post scored four unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth and limited the visitors to only three singles at the plate.
Freshman James Ackerman (Smithtown, N.Y.) was the hard luck loser on the mound for Bridgeport in the nightcap, as he worked 5.2 strong innings allowing no earned runs on just four hits with six strikeouts and two walks.
Up next, the Purple Knights will host Alliance University on Monday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. for a Senior Day doubleheader that was moved from Sunday.
