Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

1-0 SENIOR NIGHT VICTORY SPARKS PLAYOFF BERTH FOR BEARS

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - A Bloomfield College goal in the 71st minute proved the difference a Tuesday evening showdown, as the Bears men's soccer team dropped the Warriors of Nyack College, 1-0 on Senior Night decision at Foley Field.

Bloomfield improved to 8-4-2 overall on the season but more importantly scored key victory in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play moving to 6-3-1 and third place in the league.

The ball simply bounced the right way for the Bears, as they fired nine shots on target throughout the game. Sophomore Tevin Blake (Savannah la Mar, Jamaica) brought some energy to the game taking three shots for the night and finding the back off the net from inside the 6 yard line to send the seniors off in style.

Bloomfield outshot Nyack 6-4 in the first half and put four shots on-goal, all of which the Warriors goalkeeper, Wiktor Lasota (Warsaw, Poland) saved. Wilson Cisneros (Bronx, N.Y.) was up to the task as well, saving two shots that preserved a scoreless tie at halftime.

The Bears continued their attack in the second stanza with a barrage of eight shots with Blake's breakthrough providing the advantage the home team needed. The loss dropped Nyack to 5-7-1 overall and 4-4-1 in conference action.

Three seniors were recognized prior to Tuesday's game including Shacquille Brown (Springfield, St. Thomas) and Marin Jonjic (Podstrana, Croatia), who were both sidelined due to injuries. Defender, Odane Gray (Kingston, Jamaica) started on the pitch for the Bears and also served as team captain.

Bloomfield clinched a playoff berth with the win tonight and will look to closeout the 2015 regular season with two games on the road to decide if they will play a home game in the opening round of the CACC post-season. First up they travel to Goldey-Beacom to battle the Lightning on Saturday at 3:30 pm and then finish up against Post University on Tuesday at 3:00 pm.
