Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

BEARS SHUTOUT ON THE ROAD BY PHILLY U IN 4-0 CACC LOSS

PHILADELPHIA, P.A. - The Bloomfield College men's soccer team saw their six-game unbeaten streak come to an end at the hands of Philadelphia University Saturday afternoon during a 4-0 shutout at Ravenhill Field. The Rams celebrated their Homecoming in front over over 500 fans and improved their overall record to 4-3-3 with a 2-2-1 mark in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play. The Bears' record fell to 5-3-2 on the season and 3-2-1 in conference play.

Philly U owned the day, outshooting Bloomfield 14-3 in the first half. Jovan Stanojkovic (Pancevo, Serbia) received the start in goal for the visitors and recorded four saves on the day, allowing only one goal in the opening period.

The Rams pulled away in the second half, scoring three unanswered goals as the Bloomfield offense sputtered on the wet grass. Paulo Claudio (San Paulo, Brazil) and Hugues Douyon (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) took four shots between them and the Bears recorded only two shots on goal all afternoon.

The home team enjoyed a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks on the emotional day with Bloomfield bearing the brunt of 5-out of-7 cards handed out on the pitch.

The Bears will look to rebound from Saturday's tough loss when they travel to Bronxville to face the Clippers of Concordia College. The start time is set for 3 pm on Tuesday. Stay up-to-date with the latest news, including game previews and recaps, from the Bloomfield College athletic department by liking the Bears on Facebook and following the Bears on Twitter or Instagram @GO_BCBears.
