Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

POST HANDS THE BEARS MORE THAN A 4-2 LOSS IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE

WATERBURY, CONN. – Three first-half goals doomed the Bloomfield College men's soccer team Tuesday afternoon as the visiting Bears fell, 4-2, to the Eagles of Post University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup at LaMoy Field.

The Eagles opened the scoring at the 7:33 mark in the first half on a long lead pass that drew the Bears keeper, Wilson Cisneros (Bronx, N.Y.) out of goal and allowed Tiago Martins to pick up his 6th score of the year. Abdallah Bah put the hosts up 2-0 when he found the back of the net off of a rebound. Just under ten minutes later, the Eagles served up another long pass that Cisneros missed and Anthony Asante finished in goal to take a commanding 3-0 lead into the half.

Bloomfield (8-6-2, 6-5-1 CACC) rallied in the second half with a pair of goals, similarly within ten minutes of each other. First senior, Odane Gray (Kingston, Jamaica) scored his first goal of 2015 with a header off of a Shacquille Brown (Springfield, St. Thomas) corner kick and then Paulo Claudio (San Paulo, Brazil) notched his 13th goal of the year on a rebounded shot to pull the visitors within one (2-3).

Finally, Post (10-5-1, 8-3 CACC) put the game out of reach in the 78th minute when Bah netted his second goal of the day to seal the Eagles victory and send Bloomfield home with their second consecutive CACC road loss. The defeat ended the regular season for the Bears and also knocked them out of the top four teams of the conference, taking away the chance for Bloomfield to host a playoff game on Monday afternoon at Foley Field.

The Bears will await the conclusion of the regular season for all the teams in the league on Friday, in order to determine where they will travel to play the opening round of the playoffs on Monday afternoon at 2:00 pm.
