BEARS GO ON THE ROAD AND DRIVE BY FELICIAN, 89-81 IN CACC NORTH DIVISION THRILLER

RUTHERFORD, NJ. – The Bloomfield College men's basketball team traveled to Felician University Wednesday night and pulled out an, 89-81 win in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play at Job Gymnasium. The regular-season league champions improved their overall record to 22-5 and 17-1 in conference match ups while the Golden Falcons dropped to 11-15 overall and 8-10 in CACC games.

Bloomfield saw Safee Abdus-Sabur (West Orange, NJ) lead four players in double-figures with 23 points. Keith Washington (Philadelphia, Pa) and Kavion Green (Amityville, NY) each contributed 16 points and CACC Co-Player of the Week, Nick Davidson (Lumberton, NJ) turned in a modest double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in his last visit to the Job Gym.

A spirited first half saw the Golden Falcons edge out Bloomfield 41-40 with Davidson on the bench for most of the period with two fouls. The Job Gymnasium was charged up as they celebrated Senior Night and the team responded with an electrifying performance, shooting 47.1 percent from the field (16-of-34) including the last eight points of the half to snatch the lead from Bloomfield.

The Bears quickly regained the advantage in the opening minutes of the 2nd half and had the home team playing from behind up until 7:17 remained on the clock. The North Division neighbors traded three-point buckets and were knotted at 70-70 before Bloomfield stretched out a 10-3 run to seize control. Felician never recovered and and the visitors exited with their 17th league victory.

The Bears are set to close out there regular-season on Saturday against Caldwell University. With their 10th North Division title in 14 years, head Coach Gerald Holmes has his team ready for the potentially history-making 3:00 pm match up at the Newman Center against the Cougars.
