Three Second Half Goals Help Eagles Top Dominican In Men's Soccer, 4-1

Waterbury, Conn. - The Post University men's soccer team used three second half goals enroute to a 4-1 win over Dominican in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference tilt at LaMoy Field

The win puts the Eagles at 5-6-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the CACC. Dominican is 4-9 overall and 3-6 in the CACC.

With the score tied, 1-1 at halftime, the Eagles got off to an ideal second half start as sophomore Alvaro Sanchez (Madrid, Spain) took a pass from classmate Sergio Diaz (Madrid, Spain) in the 47th minute to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead.

Diaz again would be the catalyst for the next goal for the Eagles as he fed freshman Phillimon Bedard-Khalid in the 71st minute, who put it past goalkeeper Joshua Stephens to make it a 3-1 game. It was Bedard-Khalid's second goal of the season.

Finally, in the 86th minute, senior Mohammad Awadallah (Bethlehem, Palestine) added a little more insurance in for the final goal of the game, his second of the season.

The Eagles got on the board early in the fourth minute as freshman  Sergio Sanchez scored in the fourth minute. Dominican tied it in the 21st on a goal from Maximino Casares Martinez.

Both teams were even in shots with 14 apiece as Diaz led the Eagles with four. Freshman Frederik Pedersen stopped eight shots in net for the Eagles. Diaz is now tied for the CACC lead with ten assists.

Up next for the Eagles is a CACC road game at Jefferson on October 13 at 2:30 p.m.
