BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – For the second consecutive year the Bears women's basketball team achieved 20 wins in the regular-season as the charged past Dominican College 67-59 Tuesday evening at the Den. Senior,
Tianna Smith (Spring Valley, N.Y.) led the attack with 21 points in her final regular-season game and junior
Zhane Robinson (Newark, N.J.) cleaned up on the boards with a game-high 14 for the evening. Bloomfield will now turn their sights to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) post-season play, which begin on Saturday.

How It Happened
- Bears struggled to put points on the board early in the 1st quarter but managed to run out to a 12-2 advantage with 2:52 left on the clock. Dominican countered with their own 10-2 spurt that put the home team on their heels, however Bloomfield ended the period up 16-12
- The Bears stretched to a ten-point advantage in the 2nd quarter (27-17) and seemed to carry the momentum of the match but the Chargers battled back and went into the locker room down, 30-25. Smith went into the break with 8 points to lead all scorers and Robinson pulled down a monster, 11 rebounds by halftime
- Dominican played inspired ball out of the locker room and rattled off six straight to claim their first advantage of the contest, 31-30. The Bears were up to the task and went back in front by the end of the period, 46-39
- The Bears flexed their claws in the final period when a Gabriella Bennett (Willingboro, N.J.) jumper put the CACC North Division powerhouse up, 56-41 with 4:23 to go in the match. Dominican put up a final charge but Bloomfield secured the victory from the line
Up Next: The Bears will host the CACC Quarterfinal round on Saturday at 4:30 pm. The Griffins of Chestnut Hill earned the South Division's #3 seed and will travel to the Den ook to rebound from having their 11-game CACC win-streak snapped with another North Division test to close out the regular season on Tuesday. The Chargers of Dominican College come to town for a 5:30 pm showdown in the Den.
