BLOOMFIELD SLIDES BY NYACK ON THE ROAD, 97-86 IN CACC NORTH DIVISION ACTION

NYACK, NY – The Bears slid past the Warriors of Nyack College Wednesday evening with a 97-86 victory in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division action. The road win marked Bloomfield's third consecutive win and moved their overall record to 10-3 and a perfect, 5-0 in league games. The Warriors dropped to 2-4 in conference play and 2-10 overall on the year.

Junior Safee Abdus-Sabur (Newark, NJ) paced the Bloomfield offense with a season-high 22 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field including a perfect, 4-of-4 from long range. Abdus-Sabur led all scorers on the night and was joined by four other Bears in double-figures, with senior Marcus Fleming (Linden, NJ) recording 21 points and Nick Davidson (Lumberton, NJ) adding 17 points.

Bloomfield had a tremendous shooting night, going 33-of-66 from the field (50.0 percent) and 15-of-25 from three-point range (15-of-25) but the Warriors had an even better night, trumping the visitors with 51.6 percent shooting from the field (33-of-64) and 53.1 percent from long-range (17-of-32). The Bears distance themselves from Nyack and ultimately won the game at the free-throw line, converting 16-of-23 from the stripe while limiting the home team to just four attempts during the entire game.

Abdus-Sabur went a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line and tri-captain, Rakwan Kelly (Newark, NJ) netted most of his 10 total points at the line, going 6-of-10 on the night. In just his second game of the season, Dontay Julius (Linden, NJ) added 13 points to round out the Bears top-scorers.

Bloomfield will be back in action Saturday afternoon when they travel to Bronxville, NY to face the Clippers. Concordia College is set to tip off in CACC action against the Bears at 3:00 pm.
