BARNES FUELS BEARS FIRST WIN OF THE YEAR AS THEY DOWN THE CHARGERS, 63-43

BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield College women's basketball team picked up their first victory of the season Saturday afternoon in a 67-42 decision over the Chargers from Dominican College. The Bears opened their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule with the win and improved their overall record to 1-6 including a perfect 1-0 in league play. Dominican fell to 0-7 on the season and suffered their first conference loss.
 
Head Coach Vanessa Watson secured her first win at the collegiate level as her team shot 42.9 percent from the field in the second quarter to distance themselves from the Chargers. The Bears went into half time with a Aanise Barnes (Newark, NJ) had a career day leading the home squad with 18 points and added 8 rebounds. Bobbi Floyd (Las Vegas, NV) had a solid afternoon with nine boards to go along with 12 points. Kiamsha Bynes (Piscataway, NJ) chipped in 11 points as Bloomfield treated the fans in 'The Den' to their first win at home.

The Bears will travel for their next CACC contest coming up on Tuesday, December 5th. Bloomfield will head to Post University for a 5:30 pm match up with the Eagles.
