SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Facing a one-goal deficit late in regulation on Saturday afternoon, the Shippensburg University women's lacrosse team scored twice in the game's final stages, with senior Lindsey Kennedy recording the game-winner with 1:05 left to complete her hat trick and give the Raiders a 7-6 win over CACC opponent Georgian Court from a rainy Robb Sports Complex.

The Raiders (1-2) earned their first win of the 2013 season with late heroics from the Kennedy sisters, as sophomore Courtney Kennedy netted the equalizer on a free position strike with 2:15 remaining to knot the score at 6-6. Just over a minute later, Lindsey Kennedy put SU on top for good with another free position strike.

Shippensburg had jumped out to a 2-0 lead 10 minutes into the game and a 3-1 lead with nine minutes remaining in the first half with goals from Lindsey Kennedy, sophomore Sheila Johnson (assisted by Lindsey Kennedy) and junior Liz French.

Georgian Court (0-3-1) then rattled off four straight goals – including two in the final nine minutes of the first half – to open up a 5-3 lead with 19:30 minutes left in the second half. Senior Roxanne Brown scored exactly a minute later and assisted on another Lindsey Kennedy goal five minutes later to knot the game at 5-5.

The Lions grabbed the lead for the final time with an Olivia Rotunno goal with just under seven minutes remaining to set up the Raider comeback.

Brown and Johnson led the team with four groundball pickups while Lindsey Kennedy, Courtney Kennedy, French and junior Carly Ruberti each recorded three.

Freshman goalkeeper Ally Frymoyer had her most impressive effort of her young career to date, recording four saves and allowing just six goals.

The Raiders will play their fourth consecutive home game on Monday afternoon with a 4 p.m. matchup against Wheeling Jesuit from Robb Sports Complex.
