BEARS COME UP SHORT IN OVERTIME, 85-80 DURING FINAL NON-CONFERENCE BATTLE AGAINST NEW HAVEN

WEST HAVEN, CONN – The Bloomfield College men's basketball team suffered an, 85-80 setback on the road Tuesday evening against the University of New Haven. The non-conference loss in the Bears second consecutive overtime game dropped the regionally ranked team to 20-5 overall while the Chargers improved to 15-9.

Despite two 20-plus performances from senior, Nick Davidson (Lumberton, NJ) and junior Keith Washington (Philadelphia, PA), Bloomfield couldn't find a bucket over the last 2:45 in regulation and came up short in the extra frame.

Davidson and Washington each took eighteen shots for the game with the senior converting nine buckets and the junior with seven. Davidson also registered a team-high, seven rebounds, all coming off the defensive glass.

On the night, the visitors only recorded 7 offensive boards and were out-rebounded 39-31 as the Chargers stifled the Bears opportunities for put-back points. Junior guard, Safee Abdus-Sabur (West Orange, NJ) had a solid performance with 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field including 3-of-4 from long range. Senior international forward, Ignacio Diez (Madrid, Spain) came off the bench to round out Bloomfield's top-scorers with 13 points of his own, going 5-for-8 from the field.

Next up for Bloomfield, they will welcome Georgian Court University to The Den for another CACC North Division match up. The Lions come to town on Senior Day as the Bears celebrate their program's seniors just before the 3:00 pm tip on Saturday.
