Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

BLAKE FUELS BEARS, 3-2 BATTLE OVER THE WARRIORS OF ESU

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - Junior Tevin Blake (Savannah la Mar, Jamaica) assisted on the Bears first goal of the night and then scored what proved to be the winning goal in the 70th minute of play to fuel the Bloomfield College men's soccer team to a 3-2 win over East Stroudsburg University. The non-conference, regional battle improved the Bears to 1-2 on the year as they successfully defended the 'Den' in their home opener at Foley Field. The Warriors fell to 0-2 in the setback in their first game on the road of 2016.

The Warriors opened up the scoring in the hotly contested match just 2:48 into the 1st period when Eddy Enowbi fired a shot into the upper left corner of the net past Matthew Weigner (Warrington, P.A.) to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage. Senior Hugues Douyon (Port-au-Ptince, Haiti) evened up the game in the tenth minute off a touch pass from Blake for his first goal of 2016. Classmate Paulo Claudio (San Paulo, Brazil) recorded his first score of the season on a brilliant pass from Amin Miller (Mandeville, Jamaica) in the 17th minute to give Bloomfield a 2-1 lead at halftime.

The Warriors answered early in the 2nd half and tied the score at 2-2 in the 53rd minute of play. Claudio then took on the role of facilitator, serving up a ball for Blake to push past the Warriors keeper's right and tickle the back of the net for the go-ahead score.

Both teams had 11 shots as Bloomfield placed 7 of them on goal. ESU held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks while both goalkeepers recorded four saves during the match.

Next up the Bears set their sights on their first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent as the Lions of Georgian Court come to town for a Saturday afternoon showdown. The contest is scheduled for a 3:30 pm start on the pitch at Foley Field.
