BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Bloomfield College women's basketball team dropped their tenth straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game Saturday afternoon as they fell to the Georgian Court University, 75-64.The Bears overall record dropped to 4-19 this season and 3-11 in conference play while the Lions improved to 7-13 overall and 5-8 in league matches with the road win.
Siani Smith (Burlington, NJ) had a career-day in points, pouring in 14Â on 6-of-9 shooting from the field to lead the home team's offense. Smith was efficient off the bench, playing only 16 minutes and added 4 rebounds. Jaylah Bennett (Newark, NJ) was the only other Bear in double-digit scoring, netting 13 points, going 3-of-6 from long range.
Bloomfield led 16-15 after the first quarter of the game but Georgian Court roared back to take a 29-24 advantage into the halftime intermission. Both teams caught fire in the third quarter but the Lions, with a 29-22 third frame, put the game just out of Bloomfield's reach.
The Bears return to the hardwood on Wednesday for another CACC match-up, this time against the Golden Falcons. Felician welcomes Bloomfield to the Job Center for a 5:30 pm tip-off on the CACC Network.
