Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

BEARS COME UP ON THE WRONG SIDE OF A ONE-GOAL AFFAIR AGAINST HUSKIES IN SEASON OPENER

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomfield College men's soccer team dropped their season opener on Saturday against Bloomsburg by the score of 1-0. The single-goal, non-conference affair left the Bears with a 0-1 record to start 2018 while the Huskies remained perfect at 2-0 after the victory.

The regional foes battled to a scoreless tie at the halftime break where the visitors outshot the Huskies, 6-1 heading into the locker room. The evening crowd at Steph Pettit Stadium were on edge as the home team fended off the Bears attack after the first forty-five minutes of play.

Each team looked for a breakthrough to seize the momentum of the game and that came during the 53rdminute of the 2ndhalf when a Bloomsburg reserve, Kevin Rodriguez (Pottstown, Pa.) scored on the Bears freshman goalkeeper Robert Kornel (Berlin, Germany). The goal proved to be all the Huskies would need and they handed Bloomfield the loss in their first game of the season.

Bloomfield will look to rebound when they take to the road again for another regional, non-conference match up on Wednesday, September 5. The Bears will square off with Millersville at 4:30 p.m. with Live Stats and Video available on the website.
