ROBINSON'S 6TH DOUBLE-DOUBLE PUTS BEARS IN POSITION FOR, 66-64 LAST SECOND COMEBACK OVER LINCOLN

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – The Bloomfield College women's basketball team travelled to Pennsylvania to play their final non-conference contest of the regular season and picked up their first victory outside of the CACC with a thrilling 66-64 win over Lincoln University. The regional Valentine's Day win pushed the Bears overall record to 14-11 while the Lions fell to 15-8 with the setback on Wednesday evening.

Senior forward, Zhane Robinson (Newark, NJ) registered her 6th double-double of the year with a game-high, 31 points and 11 rebounds that gave Bloomfield the edge Lions. Deja McKenzie (Baltimore, MD) turned in a solid 11-point performance on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor.

The visitor's offense went basket-for-basket with their CIAA hosts as Bloomfield scratched out a 17-15 advantage on a quarter-ending layup from Ilysia Lewis (Baltimore, MD. Lewis' bucket would foreshadow a dramatic finish to the evening's action. The Bears shot 41.7 percent (8-of-17) from the field in the opening frame powered by 11 points from Robinson. The home team looked to regain control in the 2nd quarter with a 20-4 spurt that put Bloomfield in a 14-point hole. The Lions took a 38-24 lead into intermission as the Bears offense went into hibernation, posting just 7 points in the quarter.

Robinson led all scorers at halftime with 14 points but would need some assistance if the visitors were to make a comeback in the second half of the contest.

Head Coach, Vanessa Watson woke the team from their slumber in the 3rd quarter and the Bears responded with 22 points in the period. A last second floater in the lane from McKenzie pulled Bloomfield to within four (50-46) heading into the final frame of play.

The 4th quarter was a see-saw battle with each team going to the lane to find points. The visitors finally found an opening when a fast-break layup from Kiamsha Bynes (Piscataway, NJ) at the 2:28 minute mark put Bloomfield up, 63-62 for the first time in the period. After Lewis hit a free throw that tied the game at 64, the stage was set for a photo finish and the Bears delivered.

Lewis took center-stage as she drove to the hole and converted the game-winning layup with four tics remaining on the clock. Lincoln put up a three-ball that missed the mark giving the CACC visitors their first non-conference decision. Lewis finished her night tying a season-high with 13 points, five rebounds, four assists and 2 blocks; the junior forward even thru in a steal for good measure.

Bloomfield returns home for Senior Day this Saturday as Coach Watson gears up for the final stretch of CACC battles. The Bears will host Georgian Court University at 1:00 pm and celebrate the women's basketball program seniors prior to tip-off.
