BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bears men's basketball team welcomed Georgian Court University into The Den Saturday afternoon and came away with a 67-64 win over the Lions. Bloomfield won their second-straight game at home and second-straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) battle to move to, 12-11 overall and 8-6 in league play. Georgian Court dropped to 6-7 in conference matches and 8-12 overall after the setback on the road..

The Bears clawed ahead for a 34-23 lead in the first half as the duo of seniors, Safee Abdus-Sabur (Newark, NJ) and Dontay Julius (Union, NJ) paced the home team's office with nine points each. Bloomfield held the Lions to just 29.0 percent shooting from the field (9-of-31) in the opening period while forcing 11 turnovers.  

The 2nd half saw the home squad push their advantage to as-many-as sixteen (41-25) early in the frame but the Lions came roaring back and tied the game up at 49-49 with a little under 11 minutes left to play.  After spotting the visitors the next four points, Bloomfield seized the momentum of the game on an Abdus-Sabur three-pointer and never looked back.  

Abdus-Sabur finished the game with 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the field while Julius ended his day with 18 points on 7-of-19 shooting. Freshman, Isaiah Sparks (Ewing, NJ) had a solid performance after being re-inserted into the starting line-up as he finished with 9 points and a team-high 8 rebounds. He also added 4 steals to the Bears effort.

Bloomfield will now face Felician University in their next contest slated for Wednesday, February 12th. The CACC North Division showdown at the Job Center is set for an 8:00 pm tip-off and will air Live on The CACC Network.
