Lopez Nets Two; Firebirds Fall to Dominican

WASHINGTON, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's women's lacrosse team fell 21-3 to the Dominican College Chargers, Sunday afternoon at the E.B Henderson Sports Complex Field. The Firebirds fell to 0-5 on the season and the Chargers improved to 2-2.

Lauryn Lopez led UDC with two goals and Anna Schamens added a goal and assist to both tally two points. Alejandra Lainez-Rodriquez also had a game-high five grounds balls. and Zuleima Ulloa-Santos had a season and game-high 11 saves.

The Chargers took the early lead outscoring the Firebirds 7-0 in the first quarter before a feed from Schamens to Lopez ended the UDC drought. Both ladies scored in the second quarter to cap out the Firebird's goals on the day, as DC went on to secure a 21-3 victory.

UDC (0-5) is back on the road on the 16th to face off against Davis & Elkins with a tip-off time of 6:00 pm.
