Box Score

3565BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – Sophomore goalkeeper Arthur Clapot (Annecy, France) made five saves, but the Bloomfield College men's soccer team fell to Post University, 4-0, Tuesday evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) men's soccer action at Foley Field.

With the loss, The Bears will dip to 6-9 overall and 6-5 in the league, while the Eagles improve to 7-7 with a 5-6 mark in the CACC as postseason play looms.

The Eagles claimed the early lead at 25:52 when Tiago Martins (Porto, Portugal) crossed a pass to Souleymane Kone, who booted the ball into the open left side of the net for his second goal of the season. Post would take that 1-0 advantage into the halftime break out-shooting Bloomfield 13-3 in the opening period.

The Eagles came out soaring in the second half as Gustavo Ferreira (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) took a feed from Mamadou Balde (Conakry, Guinea) and blasted a shot past Clapot in the 52nd minute, doubling the visitors lead at 2-0. Ferreira then placed a ball into the box at the 59:03 minute mark that Raphael Moura (Danbury, Conn.) found a home for in the back of the net for his 8th goal of the year and Post was in command 3-0.

Martins made the final strike for the Eagles as the clock elapsed into the 70th minute of play with his shot pushing passed the Bloomfield keeper to give him 7 on the season.

The Bears found it hard to get thru the Post defense, only offering 5 total shots on the match and being edged 20-5 in that department. Bloomfield held a slim 6-3 advantage in corner kicks but couldn't convert them into scoring opportunities. Eagles keeper Serigne Baba Gaye (Dakar, Senegal) who left the game in the 76th minute with an injury stopped the lone shot-on-goal he faced in the first half to earn the win.

Bloomfield will conclude the regular season on the road Friday with a Halloween showdown against CACC rival, Dominican College at 3:30pm. The Bears can improve their postseason position with a win over the the Chargers. For pictures from this evening's game log on to our facebook page at: facebook.com/bcbearsathletics
