WATERBURY, CONN – The Bears women's basketball team remained undefeated in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play with a victory on the road against Post University Tuesday evening. The Bears second consecutive win of the year pushed their overall record to 2-6 with a 2-0 mark in league battles. The Eagles fell to 1-4 on the season with a 0-1 mark in conference games after the loss at the Drubner Center.
 
Senior transfer, Kiamsha Bynes (Piscataway, NJ) had her best day as a Bear as she posted a game-high 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field including a blistering 4-of-6 from long-range. The visitors jumped out to a 18-11 lead in the opening quarter and never looked back. Bynes led four Bloomfield players in double-figures with Ilysia Lewis (Baltimore, MD) recording 13 points and 7 rebounds.  The Eagles' offense went cold in the 2^nd quarter and scored, a season-low, four points and allowed the Bears to take a 43-15 advantage into the break.
 
Bloomfield cruised in the last two quarters of the game and the team's top-scorer, Deja McKenzie (Baltimore, MD) finished the day with 11 points. Senior, guard Jahniece Jaffe (Egg Harbor, NJ) had a good evening as she rounded out the Bloomfield offensive leaders with 11 points against Post.
 
The Bears still only shot 37.7 percent (23-of-61) from the floor but with 38.9 percent (7-of-18) coming from beyond the arc, head coach Vanessa Watson has something to build on and a two-game win streak.
 
Bloomfield will be up for a big test in CACC action this Saturday as regionally ranked, Caldwell University travels down Bloomfield Ave for a face-off in The Den. The 1:00 pm tip-off will feature the two unbeaten teams in league play matching up for an exciting game in front of the Bloomfield faithful.
