WATERBURY, CONN – The Bloomfield College men's basketball team won their second consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game Tuesday evening on the road against Post University. The Bears took a 75-62 victory over the Eagles and improved to 6-2 on the year with a perfect 2-0 record in conference play. The home team's overall record fell to 1-6 for the season and 0-2 in league play.
Keith Washington (Philadelphia, PA) led a balanced Bloomfield scoring offense with 14 points while tri-captain,
Rakwan Kelly (Newark, NJ) posted his fourth double-double in 2017-18 as he netted 12 points and snagged 10 rebounds. Senior,
Nick Davidson (Lumberton, NJ) also registered 12 points, shooting 3-of-4 from the field but all of them from long-range.
Kavion Green (Amityville, NY) and
Safee Abdus-Sabur (Newark, NJ) each hit three shots and totaled 9 points while
Matt Lajeunesse (Union, NJ) had a career-high 8 points with the sophomore going a perfect 3-of-3 from the floor. Bloomfield controlled the contest from start to finish as the visitors never relinquished the lead after a Davidson 3-pointer in their first possession of the night.
Next up for Bloomfield, they will welcome Caldwell University to The Den for another CACC North Division match up. The Cougars come to town with the reigning league Player of the Week, Derek Dorn for a 3:00 pm tip on Saturday.
