Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

WARRIORS RUN AWAY WITH 3-1 CACC WIN OVER BEARS

NYACK, N.Y. – The Bloomfield College men's soccer team saw the second goal of the season from Teven Blake (Savannah la Mar, Jamaica) but it was not enough as the Bears suffered a 3-1 loss at the feet of the Warriors from Nyack College Tuesday evening. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) road setback left Bloomfield at 3-7-2 overall and 2-5-2 in league action. The Warriors improved to 5-7 in 2016 with a 4-4 conference mark as post-season jockeying begins.

Nyack struck first on the night with an early goal in the fifth minute of play past Jovan Stanojkovic (Pancevo, Serbia) in his second start of the season in goal for the Bears. Blake's goal evened the match at 1-1 on a pass from senior Hugues Douyon (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) at the 13:34 mark of the opening period. The Warriors seized control with a goal eight minutes later and tacked on another score in the 32nd minute on a shot through the legs of Stanojkovic for a 3-1 advantage heading into halftime.

That proved to be all the offense Nyack would need as Bloomfield was held scoreless in the second half. The Bears were aggressive for the entire match, out-shooting the Warriors 19-9 on the night with a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks but the home team prevailed on the scoreboard and sent Bloomfield home with their fourth consecutive CACC contest without a victory.

The Bears will rest up for a few days and regroup as they welcome Millersville University to Foley Field on Saturday. Bloomfield will celebrate homecoming with a 1:30 pm start against the regional non-conference Marauders on October 15th.
